BAR urine drug test is a one-step rapid immunoassay designed to detect barbiturates in human urine
at a cut-off concentration of 300 ng/ml. Barbiturates are a group of prescription drugs used as hypnotic sedatives. Short-acting
barbiturates, such as secobarbital, normally remain detectable in human urine for 4 to 6 days, while long-acting barbiturates,
such as phenobarbital, can be detected in urine for up to 30 days. Barbiturate drug tests are available in
cassette or dipstick formats.
